Pursuant to Massachusetts General Law Chapter 90,
Section 20A1/2, you are entitled to an appeal of your citation within 21 days of
being issued. An appeal is warranted if you believe that the ticket was issued
in error or that you did not commit the violation described in the ticket. You
may also appeal the ticket if you believe it was issued correctly and you
committed the violation described, but you believe that there were mitigating
circumstances involved.
However, the following reasons are not,
generally, considered for an appeal:
•
Lack of coins;
• Running late;
• Unaware that payment was required;
• Just running inside for a minute;
• Did not mean to violate a regulation;
• Other drivers were also in violation;
• You did not realize you were violating a
regulation; or
• You've violated the
regulation in the past without penalty.”Tickets may be appealed to the Parking Program
Manager
within 21 days of the ticket being issued.
