Before harvesting shellfish you should read all the local Town's Shellfish Regulations. Towns generally require permits to harvest shellfish. Your local Shellfish Constable can give you further information.

  • Oysters will open in the Town of Barnstable for both the southside (Bay Street, Osterville) and the northside (Scudder Lane, Barnstable) on Wednesday, November 2nd. Please remember the limit is 1/2 peck per week. Enjoy.

Centerville River Relay

On a year to year basis, Natural Resources determines if work will be contracted out to harvest bushels from the Centerville River to relay to another site where they will depurate. This site will remain closed until DMF approval.

The dates for 2015 are still being determined. Please check back at a later date.
